Duties
* Manage Brigade social media platforms, public website content, and SharePoint communications.
* Develop communication plans for major exercises, deployments, and operational activities.
* Advise senior leadership on public affairs policies, communication strategies, and media engagement.
* Provide photographic support for command activities and public affairs products.
* Coordinate media interviews, photography opportunities, and coverage of Brigade operations. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* A one year probationary period required.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes developing and executing communication programs; preparing news releases, articles, briefings, talking points, and digital media content; coordinating media relations and community outreach; and applying communication principles, policies, and procedures to promote organizational missions and objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
