Dining Facility Manager Position
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract Position
Work Schedule:
Rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency feeding operations. Normal dining facility operating coverage may include weekdays from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and weekends and holidays from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed for inspections and administrative duties.
Place of Performance: NCO Academy Dining Facility, Building 6056 Schofield Barracks, Hawaii
Period of Performance:
Operations are anticipated to begin on December 1, 2026, following a phase-in period during November 2026. The contract may continue for up to five years, subject to contract award, task orders, and continued Government requirements.
Summary:
The Assistant or Alternate Dining Facility Manager will support the Dining Facility Manager in daily operations and assume full management responsibility when the primary manager is unavailable.
Requirements:
- Previous supervisory or management experience in food service
- Experience in cafeteria, institutional, military, restaurant, or catering operations
- Knowledge of meal production, sanitation, inventory, scheduling, and quality control
- Food Protection Manager certification is preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to supervise multiple food-service functions
- Ability to obtain and maintain required installation access
- Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency coverage
Duties:
- Assist with daily dining facility management
- Supervise assigned shifts and meal periods
- Verify employee attendance and work assignments
- Monitor food preparation and serving-line readiness
- Conduct food-safety and sanitation inspections
- Resolve staffing, production, and customer-service concerns
- Assist with ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory control
- Review employee performance and provide training
- Maintain operational logs, schedules, and reports
- Serve as acting manager when the primary manager is absent
- Coordinate corrective actions for identified deficiencies
- Support emergency, remote-site, and special feeding requirements
