Provide services in support of the Army’s Family Advocacy Program (FAP), serving Soldiers and families with domestic violence and other victim advocacy needs. This on‑site victim advocate works 24/7 and coordinates with military and civilian agencies to deliver comprehensive care and support to victims of domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention, emotional support and immediate safety planning.
  • Conduct risk and lethality assessments and develop individualized safety plans.
  • Arrange transportation and accompany victims to medical, legal, law‑enforcement and court appointments.
  • Assist victims in obtaining protective orders, emergency food and shelter, and benefits.
  • Advocate for victims in meetings with first responders, medical teams and law‑enforcement.
  • Provide education on rights, resources, and domestic‑abuse prevention to Soldiers, families and civilians.
  • Coordinate with the Family Advocacy Program Manager (FAPM) to ensure timely referral and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate case files, complete data entry within three business days, and ensure no less than 30‑day contact with non‑crisis victims.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case‑review meetings and represent the best interests of victims.
  • Attend and conduct domestic‑abuse training and awareness programs.
  • Execute any additional duties as assigned that support the role.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage & family therapy, counseling, behavioral science, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience with victim advocacy or domestic‑abuse services.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic‑violence dynamics, safety planning, risk assessment, and local community resources.
  • Legal knowledge of federal and state laws, the Victim Rights Bill, and family law.
  • Ability to work independently, assess risk, develop safety plans and intervene in crisis situations.
  • Empathetic, culturally sensitive, and able to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and personal vehicle available for transportation when required.
  • Availability for on‑call 24/7 service, including nights, weekends and occasional daytime hours.
  • Willingness to work part‑time within 12–35 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Location:

Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Contract position under the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation and benefits provided per the wage determination agreement.
