The Accounting Assistant position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing the Y with accounting services, ensuring effective, efficient and accurate financial operations and reporting.

Hours: Part-time; 24 hours per week.

Pay: $23-25 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Essential Functions

Processing and monitoring of cash receipts through computerized accounting software.

Maintains updated vendor files.

Ensures all monthly invoices are entered into SGA.

Processing of all vendor invoices through a computerized accounting software system, preparing the weekly check run and mailing checks.

Audits employee reimbursements request forms.

Assists in the monthly close process by completing bank reconciliations and journal entries as assigned.

Responds to and monitors credit card disputes.

Responds to staff and vendor inquiries.

Perform other duties as needed.
