Special Education Teacher in Scotch Plains, NJ

As a Special Education Teacher, you'll work closely with students in grades 9-12, fostering growth and helping them achieve their academic goals.

• Valid certification in Special Education
• Experience teaching Math or Science at the high school level
• Proven ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners
• Commitment to supporting students with a variety of learning needs and backgrounds

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Math or Science to high school students with special needs
• Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide classroom management and promote a positive learning atmosphere
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-related activities as required
• Offer both academic and emotional support to students as they work toward graduation
