** Position Summary
** Digital Dynamics, Inc. (DDI) is seeking an NPI Test Technician Intern to support New Product Introduction activities within our Operations and Manufacturing organization.
This is a hands-on technical role designed for a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field who is interested in gaining practical experience testing and troubleshooting electronic products in a manufacturing environment.
The NPI Test Technician Intern will support prototype, pilot, and early production builds by performing product testing, troubleshooting basic failures, documenting results, supporting rework, and helping ensure new products are ready to transition into production.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, modules, and finished products using established test procedures.
* Set up and operate test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.
* Follow test procedures, manufacturing instructions, and engineering documentation to complete assigned testing.
* Record and maintain accurate test results and production documentation.
* Identify, document, and communicate product failures or abnormal test results.
* Perform basic troubleshooting to help isolate component, assembly, wiring, or test-related issues.
* Escalate complex technical issues to NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, or other appropriate technical resources.
* Support prototype, pre-production, pilot, and initial production builds.
* Assist with product setup, configuration, verification, and final test activities.
* Perform soldering, component replacement, rework, cable assembly, and other electronics-related tasks as needed.
* Inspect electronic assemblies for workmanship and obvious manufacturing defects.
* Support the validation and improvement of manufacturing test procedures and work instructions.
* Assist with test fixture setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Work closely with NPI, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and other Operations teams to support successful product introduction.
* Maintain an organized and safe manufacturing and test work area.
* Follow DDI quality, safety, ESD, and manufacturing procedures.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
** Education and Experience
*** Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline required.
* Previous internship, laboratory, electronics, manufacturing, robotics, or technical project experience preferred.
* Prior professional experience is not required.
** Technical Skills
** Basic knowledge or exposure to:
* Oscilloscopes* Digital multimeters
* Bench power supplies
* Electronic components and circuits
* PCBAs and electronic assemblies
* Reading basic schematics and technical documentation
* Soldering and electronic rework
* Basic electrical troubleshooting
* Microsoft Office applications
Experience with embedded systems, industrial controls, EtherCAT, semiconductor equipment, or manufacturing test environments is a plus.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Strong interest in hands-on electronics and manufacturing.
* Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to accurately document test results and technical observations.
* Willingness to learn from experienced technicians, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
* Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a cross-functional team.
