Senior Software Engineer

Scotts Valley / Santa Cruz, California.

This position is within the core engineering team at Extra View Corporation. The successful applicant will join an experienced team of highly motivated, professional software engineers who create and maintain the core Extra View platform. The successful applicant will focus on areas such as SQL reporting and the Java back end of the platform.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related degree. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

10 years of experience as a Software Engineer.

• Application development utilizing Java, SQL, and HTML.
• Additional relevant experience includes JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery, DHTML, JSON and XML.
• Software environments such as Apache, Apache Tomcat, Web Logic, IIS, Unix/Linux development environments, Microsoft Windows, Web servers, J2EE servlets.
• Experience in database design and architecting 3‑tier solutions is a plus.
• Use of IDE's such as Eclipse or Intelli

As a Senior Consulting Engineer within the Professional Services group, this individual is responsible for ensuring that our customers are successful in deploying applications on the Extra View software platform. The consultant will work with customers on both short‑term and long‑term engagements to ensure that the solution is delivered in accordance with customer’s expectations. Additionally, this person will be expected to provide technical and product support to ensure customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science or related degree.

2 years of experience as Sr. Consulting Engineer, or as a Computer Systems Analyst or related.

• Application development using technologies such as Java, SQL, JavaScript, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience installing and deploying applications using components such as Apache, Tomcat, Web Logic, and IIS.
• Web Development using JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, and HTML.
• Successfully performing data migrations.
• Familiarity with SCM best practices and use of source control tools such as CVS and Perforce.
• Creating and executing QA test plans.
• Integrating with applications such as Documentum, Sale Force, Axaptha, Informatica, and Tibco, employing SOA design principles, using SOAP, REST, Web Services technologies.
• Coordinating and managing simultaneous large‑scale projects.
• Providing technical support and training.
• Gathering and preparing application and business requirements and using such requirements to architect appropriate software system solutions.
• Pre‑sales engineering and prototype building.
• Willingness to travel.

We are looking for a self‑starter to qualify and close a rapidly expanding pool of prospects. You should be comfortable with sales to a technical audience, and have a good grasp of the Web and E‑Business models.

Previous successful experience selling to senior executives in major companies will demonstrate to us that you have the abilities we require.

• 2+ years sales and/or business development experience; enterprise software or Internet products preferred.
• Previous experience with QA, test, help desk, and customer support systems (Peregrine/BMC/Remedy, Peoplesoft/Vantive, Siebel, Clarify) a major plus.
• Previous experience with development support tools (IBM/Rational, Borland) a major plus.
• Excellent verbal, phone, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
• BS/BA or equivalent experience.

• Experience developing databases in a web‑based environment and within a Java framework.
• Experience in the design and development of web applications with Java, JavaScript, HTML, Ajax, HTML5, JQuery, JSON, XML, and MySQL on Tomcat or other servlet‑capable application server.
• Experience working in the following software environments Apache, Apache Tomcat, IIS, Unix/Linux development, Microsoft Windows, Web servers, J2EE servlets, and Eclipse.
• Experience using source control tools, including CVS and Perforce.
• Experience creating and executing QA test plans.
• Experience developing and testing mobile applications with Eclipse, Xcode, or Visual Studio; and,
• Experience in native smart phone application development using iOS, Android, and/or Windows Phone.
• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 2 years of experience in Software Engineer, Sr. Software Engineer, or in a related occupation.
