Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Instructor in Plumbing Trades to teach courses that prepare both high school and college students for careers in the plumbing industry. This role plays an important part in addressing the shortage of skilled workers in the trades by providing students with hands-on experience and the foundational knowledge needed for success.

The instructor will foster a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students are inspired to pursue careers in plumbing and related fields.

Job duties may include:

* Teaching plumbing trades courses to dual-credit high school students and WNCC college students.

* Developing lesson plans and delivering instruction in alignment with industry standards, safety regulations, and program goals.

* Demonstrating proper use of plumbing tools, materials, and techniques.

* Incorporating both classroom and lab-based, hands-on instruction to enhance student learning.

* Assessing student progress through assignments, projects, and practical evaluations.

* Advising students on career pathways and opportunities within the plumbing and construction industries.

* Collaborating with WNCC faculty, staff, and industry partners to keep curriculum aligned with workforce needs.

* Maintaining a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom and lab environment.

* Other duties as assigned by the Division Chair or Academic Affairs.

* Licensed journeyman or master plumber (or equivalent credential).

* Minimum of three years of professional work experience in the plumbing trade.

* Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and industry safety standards.

* Effective communication skills and ability to engage with students of varying backgrounds.

* Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in lab/shop settings for extended periods.

* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for demonstrations and lab activities.

* Flexible scheduling may include daytime, evening, or occasional weekend instruction depending on program needs.

* This is a part-time adjunct position. Employment is semester-to-semester, with no guaranteed continuation beyond the contracted term.
