Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct teaching position in the area of Information Technology / Computer Science.
Adjunct instructors are compensated $975 per credit hour. Courses may be delivered in face-to-face and/or online formats, depending on adjunct instructor availability.
This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Information Technology program. Essential responsibilities include:
Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties as per Higher Learning Commission guidelines.
Required:
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively deliver online instruction in Blackboard platform or willingness to become proficient.
- Advanced computer skills appropriate to the discipline.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Formal or informal training in pedagogy for higher education.
- Experience teaching Computer Science or Information Technology in higher education.
- Experience teaching students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual credit classes.
- Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
