Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct teaching position in the area of Information Technology / Computer Science.

Adjunct instructors are compensated $975 per credit hour. Courses may be delivered in face-to-face and/or online formats, depending on adjunct instructor availability.

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the Information Technology program. Essential responsibilities include:

  • Mastery of Subject Matter
  • Teaching Performance
  • Student Evaluation & Support
  • Support of College Policies and Procedures
  • Professionalism
  • Participate in College, Division, and Program Activities
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties as per Higher Learning Commission guidelines.

    Required:

    • Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to effectively deliver online instruction in Blackboard platform or willingness to become proficient.
    • Advanced computer skills appropriate to the discipline.

    Preferred:

    • Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
    • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
    • Formal or informal training in pedagogy for higher education.
    • Experience teaching Computer Science or Information Technology in higher education.
    • Experience teaching students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual credit classes.
    • Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
