Position Summary

Coordinates the day-to-day operations and oversight of all simulation-based education (SBE) for their designated University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Nursing Division. This individual is responsible for educational technology, equipment, resources, personnel, processes, and infrastructure essential for an efficient and effective teaching/learning environment.

Required Education

Healthcare, Educational/Instructional Technology, Business/Public Administration or related field.

Required Experience

2 years related technical support experience in an educational environment to include managing multiple projects.

Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook

Required Additional Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to working in a professional, collaborative, and diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of instructional design principles, learning theory, online learning strategies, and technology integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in using sound instructional design principles when interacting with faculty and staff to ensure effective skills training delivery.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work expected.

Preferred Education

Healthcare, Educational/Instructional Technology, Business/Public Administration or related field.

Preferred Experience

Experience designing, developing and supporting simulation instructional activities, preferably in a health education or higher education setting. Higher education teaching experience. Experience coordinating, managing or leading people and projects. Experience evaluating and improving technology-based educational programs. Experience with B-Line or similar clinical simulation capture/management system.

Preferred License

Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist Certification
