Senior Accountant – Full Time, Professional | SCOTTSBLUFF, NE, US

Regional West Health Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This position is responsible for general ledger activities, financial statement preparation, audits, and reporting for assigned corporate entities, contributing to accurate financial reporting and the organization’s financial integrity.

No two days are exactly the same, but you regularly participate in Finance department activities, collaborate across the organization, and help drive alignment across initiatives. You engage in professional development and Medical Center-related activities to stay sharp and connected to the broader healthcare finance community.

• Manage general ledger activities and month-end close for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and complete reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and provide clear, insightful narratives to help leadership understand the drivers behind the results.
• Prepare Form 990 tax returns and other regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Build year-end work papers and analyses to support a smooth independent audit.
• Identify internal audit opportunities, conduct reviews when approved, and share findings with leadership to strengthen processes and controls.
• Support Accounts Payable functions or guide AP staff to ensure invoices and payments are processed efficiently.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for Finance leadership or Medical Center management to inform decision-making.
• Collaborate with financial services relationships, including Panhandle Network Hospitals, to build strong, reliable partnerships.
• Participate in Finance department meetings and contribute expertise to drive alignment across initiatives.
• Foster relationships across departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting through collaboration and trust.
• Engage in professional development and activities related to the Medical Center and healthcare finance community.
• Contribute to the organization’s financial integrity and support key decisions that advance patient care and safety.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required

Preferred

• Healthcare financial experience strongly preferred, but not required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred, but not required
