Patient Access Specialist

About the Role:

The Patient Access Specialist serves as a key point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and financial clearance. This role supports a positive patient experience while promoting compliance, data accuracy, and efficient revenue cycle processes. To demonstrate effective customer service by committing to creating positive, trust‑based experiences through active listening, clear communication, and urgent, accountable responses.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Customer‑service‑focused with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

• Greet and assist patients in person and via phone in a professional, courteous manner.
• Complete accurate patient registration, demographic updates, and intake documentation.
• Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, referrals, and authorization requirements.
• Collect co‑payments, deductibles, and other patient financial responsibilities in accordance with policy.

A conditional job offer is contingent upon successfully passing a pre‑employment drug test and background checks. A Physical Capacity Profile may be required for some positions.
