A Day in the life

Your day begins by reviewing clinical registry submissions and monitoring data collection activities for orthopedic, neurosurgical, and bariatric service lines. You ensure registry information is complete, accurate, and submitted within required deadlines, helping support quality reporting, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance. Throughout the day, you work within multiple databases and the electronic medical record to abstract, validate, and analyze patient care data, ensuring valuable clinical insights are captured and reported accurately.

As a Registry Coordinator, you play a key role in quality improvement initiatives. You analyze trends and outcomes, identify opportunities for performance improvement, and develop reports, dashboards, and scorecards that help physicians, leaders, and clinical teams make informed decisions. Your ability to translate complex data into meaningful information supports improved patient care and service line excellence.

Throughout the day, you collaborate with providers, nurses, department leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to promote accurate clinical documentation and adherence to registry standards. You provide education on documentation requirements, quality measures, and performance metrics while supporting evidence-based clinical practices across the organization.

Quality, compliance, and confidentiality guide everything you do. You maintain HIPAA compliance, prepare for audits and accreditation reviews, and ensure all registry activities align with established specifications and reporting requirements. Whether working independently on data analysis projects or partnering with teams to improve outcomes, you bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to advancing quality patient care. At the end of the day, you know your work contributes directly to improving healthcare outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or certification in a healthcare-related field preferred.

• Knowledge of medical terminology highly preferred.
• Expertise in database management preferred.
• Three to five years of clinical healthcare experience required.
• Registry abstraction and quality improvement experience preferred.
• Knowledge of orthopedic, neurosurgical, or bariatric patient populations preferred.
