Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill and acutely ill patients, focusing on stabilization, recovery, and overall well-being. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring patients and families receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients in ICU/PCU settings, including monitoring, assessing, and treating critically ill or post-acute patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, while adhering to established protocols.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and diagnostic tests to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and implement life-saving measures as needed.
- Identify and prioritize patient needs, ensuring a safe and effective care plan.
- Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create and execute individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and emotional support.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and nursing best practices.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in critical care and progressive care nursing.
- Participate in training, certification programs, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). - Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska or Multi-state license. - Experience:
Prior experience in ICU, PCU, or acute care settings is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Preferred).
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (preferred).
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
