Part‑time RN positions are available at the Western Nebraska Veterans' Home in Scottsbluff (Evergreen). The role is scheduled primarily on selected weekends, with shifts from 0600‑1430 or 1400‑2230. Pay ranges from $36.57 to $53.90 per hour, plus additional shift differentials.
ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision, provide professional nursing care to residents, offering clinical direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and direct‑care staff. Tasks include patient assessment, medication administration, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and supervision of nursing staff. Responsibilities also cover patient rounds, health status monitoring, and execution of nursing care plans, with potential to act as Nurse Supervisor or Nursing Director in their absence.
QualificationsMinimum:
- Valid Nebraska RN license or authority via the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as an RN in Nebraska.
Knowledge of nursing theory, accepted standards of care, policies, sanitation and infection control, charting, medication pharmacology, and Nebraska nursing regulations.
Skills and abilities:
- Coordinating and providing nursing care; monitoring patient condition changes and communicating them to staff and physicians.
- Consulting with clinical specialists; instructing others in patient care.
- Accurate medical record keeping and report writing.
- Effective communication with medical professionals, direct‑care staff, and facility personnel.
- Following exact instructions, maintaining a helpful and empathetic attitude toward patients.
- Participating on an interdisciplinary team and using sound professional nursing judgment.
Physical requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally; push/pull up to 50 lbs.; bend and twist frequently; stand/walk up to 50% of each shift.
