Job Overview
Compensation: $42,000 to $62,000 per year. Shift differentials of $1.00–$1.75 may apply for evenings, nights and weekends. Additional $3 per hour differential for each hour worked.
Full‑time and part‑time positions available.
Schedule:
Set shift with every other weekend. 8‑hour shifts. Days: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.;
Evenings: 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.;
Nights: 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.
- Provides personal hygiene care for members (toileting, bathing, dressing, shampooing, shaving, hair combing or brushing, tooth brushing).
- Feeds members or assists members in feeding themselves.
- Answers member call signals and responds to basic care needs and requests.
- Provides general nursing care: applying clean and dry dressings, performing decubitus care, and providing cold or warm applications.
- Lifts or transfers members with or without mechanical lifts; turns and repositions to prevent wounds.
- Transports members throughout the home via wheelchair and assists walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
- Administers medication and observes members for adverse reactions.
- Completes paperwork: charting of member care and treatment, recording vital signs, appetite observations, flow sheets, restraint sheets and transfer documents.
- Assists in planning member treatment care and oversees member activities.
- Evaluates and reports member behavior, symptoms of illness and progress to nursing supervisor staff.
Minimum qualifications
:
Minimum 18 years of age, completion of a State‑approved 76‑hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation, and registration on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional qualifications
:
Valid driver’s license or independent authorized transportation; completion of a 40‑hour Medication Aide course and registration on the Medication Aide Registry within the first year of employment.
- Knowledge of customer and personal services, Nebraska Medication Aide Act, medication administration and adverse reactions, nursing assistant regulations, basic nursing assistance practices, infection control, HIPAA, abuse and neglect prevention, safety, privacy and dignity principles.
- Skill in providing basic nursing assistance, administering medications, and developing positive relationships with others.
- Ability to recognize adverse medication reactions and take appropriate action; follow oral and written instructions precisely; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and push/pull up to 75 pounds daily; bend, twist, walk, stand for 90% of shift; interact positively; be flexible with changing demands; lift, turn and reposition members as needed.
