RN Part-Time - Western Nebraska Veterans' Home Scottsbluff (Evergreen)

Location:

Pay Rate: $37.389 – $55.115 per hour (may vary with education/experience). Additional $3/hr differential for each hour worked plus shift differentials of $1.50–$2.50.
Work Schedule:
Part‑time 06:00‑14:30 (days) or 14:00‑22:30 (evenings); 8‑hour shifts, set schedule, work only every other weekend.
- Under limited supervision, provide professional nursing care for residents of Western Nebraska Veterans' Home.
- Provide clinical direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and direct care staff.
- Deliver and coordinate patient care activities and nursing services.
- Train nursing or direct care staff in nursing standards and techniques.
- Assist in orientation of newly hired nurses.
- Conduct patient rounds, monitor conditions, assess health status and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and/or supervise the administration of medications.
- Evaluate and report patient symptoms, progress, and medication reactions.
- Consult with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and treatment staff to ensure quality care.
- Write reports on patient progress, medication use, and actions to accomplish care plan goals.
- Maintain current patient records and transcribe physician orders.
- Assist in evaluating patient progress as part of the interdisciplinary team; develop, implement, evaluate, and revise nursing care plans.
- May serve as Nurse Supervisor or Nursing Director/Associate in their absence.
- Current RN license in Nebraska or authority under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, standards of care, policies and procedures, infection control, charting, medications, Nebraska nursing regulations.
- Skill in coordinating and providing nursing care.
- Ability to observe changes in patients’ medical condition and communicate them effectively, consult with specialists, instruct others, maintain accurate records, communicate with professionals, follow instructions in detail, maintain a helpful and empathetic attitude, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and use professional nursing judgment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, push/pull up to 50 lbs., and frequently bend, twist, and stand/walk for up to 50% of the shift.
