Working at Target, the Asset Protection (AP) team ensures a safe environment for guests and team members, protects sales by mitigating shortage risks, and handles crisis events.

• Support sales by welcoming and engaging guests and team members.
• Lead a physical security culture for team members and guests.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents.
• Utilize escalation tools for guest issues to provide a safe environment.
• Conduct merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing receipt checks for high-dollar merchandise.
• Submit appropriate documentation in the system following AP policy and procedures.
• Use video surveillance system appropriately.
• Train team members to apply merchandise protection, audit execution, and operational shortage focus.
• Execute shortage action plans to minimize shortage in focus areas.
• Model safe working practices and maintain a clean store.
• Provide a shopping experience that meets guest needs.
• Demonstrate an ethical, safety, and compliance culture.
• Work safely to benefit yourself and others.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

• At least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to learn and adapt current technology needs.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

• Climb up and down ladders.
• Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance necessary.
