Compensation

$15.00 to $18.00 per hour. Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, potentially adding an average of $2.24 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire store staff to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The role involves greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions across a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop a rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
  • Maintains the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise appropriately.
  • Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes the assigned training.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing and able to perform duties requiring extended periods of standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
  • May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage.
  • Minimum age: 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team‑oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
  • Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2‑8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. More details are provided during the interview process.
