Responsibilities- Install and blow locate string line in underground conduit systems.
- Use motorized equipment to pull fiber cable/MSTs through underground conduit systems.
- Excavate with shovels and restore disturbed soil, grass, or landscaping.
- Verify accuracy and document any discrepancies or fiber changes related to installations.
- Prepare accurate and timely field reports.
- Operate and maintain company‑owned vehicles, complete driver logs and vehicle documents.
- Operate hydraulic aerial lifts (buckets) and climb ladders.
- Splice up to 144F in either 17” or 22” cases.
- Splice butt or mid‑sheath to ribbon or MSTs (up to 12).
- Splice drop termination closure (DTC) on pole or pedestal for MST repair.
- Terminate to Clearfield Cassette or multi‑dwelling unit (MDU).
- Update splice documentation in Smart Sheets.
- Set up aerial and underground splice points including taping, directional marking, grounding, cable management tray installation, hanging cases, and securing in vault.
- Understand basic knowledge of aerial and underground cable and MST installation.
- Test fiber in the field and troubleshoot with test equipment such as power meter, VFL, and traffic identifier.
- Perform basic underground plant maintenance.
- Coordinate and oversee vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance as needed.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Work overtime when required, including after‑hours restorations during emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of telecommunication experience preferred.

- Operate machinery and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Observe details at a far range.
- Drive a vehicle with a valid driver’s license; travel up to 50% of the time.
- Possess DOT Physical/Certification where required.
