Do you want to make a difference in the lives of Nebraska's veterans? The Nebraska Department of Labor is seeking a motivated, community-minded professional to serve as a Reemployment Coordinator
- Veterans' Representative in a unique consolidated role combining duties of both the Local Veterans' Employment Representative (LVER) and the Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist. This role supports both employer engagement and direct service to veterans, especially those facing barriers to employment. This person must be extremely self-motivated, proactive, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, independent role and takes initiative to support both veterans and employers.

They must be able to build strong, trusting relationships with both job seekers and businesses and be comfortable engaging with a wide range of individuals. The ideal candidate must be a U.S. military veteran who is passionate about connecting others with resources, building relationships with employers, and delivering strong case management support.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform case management of clients; research and recommend clients for intensive and various training services including Re-Employment Services, Workfare, Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), Rapid Response, Veterans and Workforce Investment Act (WIA) which requires in-depth case management and vocational guidance.
• Screen applicants for eligibility for partner programs and utilize vocational guidance tools to assist applicants with core intensive services; work closely with partners in coordinating services of mutual clients.
• Perform job search/matching activities for employers and applicants including registration, job referrals and job development.
• Administer assessment instruments (tests, surveys, etc.) and other planning tools; interpret results and counsel clients.
• Receive and verify job orders from employers and enters information into various computer programs as needed. Match qualified applicants to employers' job orders.
• Coordinate services with local community development entities to promote community growth. Utilize various means of technology to provide needed data.
• Market Career Center services to the community and employers; contact, schedule and conduct visits with employers to explain staff-assisted and self-service service options.
• Advocate as business liaison to oversee One Stop Center marketing; coordinate visits, offers special products and market services to area business community.
• Develop and maintain shared employer database and oversee coordination of marketing efforts among partners; promote cost reimbursable services such as background checks; develop OJT contracts and work experience training opportunities for clients; and perform follow up activities.
• Plan, implement and present workshops relevant to business and job seeker needs; plan and present presentations at schools, job fairs, etc. and develop informational briefings/presentations to promote workforce development services.
• Coordinate WIA services with other partners serving clients; assist in obtaining Pell Grants, Rambo, and other funding to facilitate schooling; arrange for payment of books and tuition.
• Handle federal mandates on client satisfaction measurement; monitor delivery of educational services and develops individual employment plan (IEP) to establish plan for academic and vocational performance.
• Perform WIA and/or Employment Services (ES) core services including client registration, eligibility, assessments and employment statistics information.
