Sr. Plant Cost Analyst - Scottsboro, AL
Pay Range: $82,700.00-$ Annual. This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based on relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. This position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Role OverviewThe Sr. Plant Cost Analyst will play a critical operational and strategic role supporting our Scottsboro, AL facility, serving as a key member of the operations leadership team. The role will directly influence plant performance by driving financial visibility and enabling data‑based decisions. You will lead the development and execution of financial processes that improve cost structure, strengthen operational discipline, and enhance overall plant profitability.
Responsibilities- Provide full financial partnership to plant leadership, ensuring operational decisions are grounded in accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights.
- Lead operational performance deep dives to uncover drivers of variance, waste, and inefficiency, and recommend improvement actions with measurable outcomes.
- Build and enhance financial KPIs for plant performance, ensuring accountability and alignment to operational goals.
- Own financial execution: detailed capital and expense tracking ensuring projects meet financial targets and timelines.
- Review, analyze, and project facility spend, ensuring disciplined cost management across operations.
- Oversee monthly forecasts and annual operating plans.
- Manage accurate month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Assist with development and optimization of BOMs, routings, and standards to ensure true cost visibility.
- Partner with operations to identify and drive cost‑reduction opportunities, working‑capital improvements, and productivity gains.
- Support procurement activities that influence cost position and financial returns.
- Design, implement, and improve financial processes to support a high‑performing, scalable operations model.
- Partner with BPS/IT to troubleshoot system issues, support SAP integration, and streamline data workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- 7+ years of experience, including at least 2 years in manufacturing cost accounting.
- Proven analytical and leadership capability with the ability to influence operational partners.
- Strong communication skills and a process‑driven mindset.
- Experience with SAP/ERP, forecasting, and close cycles.
- Ability to thrive in both office and plant‑floor environments.
