Job Goal:

To assist in the transport of students to and from school safely and punctually and to aid the bus driver as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to utilize safety equipment on the bus
• Knowledge of emergency procedures related to the bus
• Participation in pre-service and in-service bus driver training program
• Must be able to lift and/or carry students as needed
• Punctuality and regular attendance

Performance Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all bus rules are adhered to by all passengers.
• Work cooperatively with administration and parents in handling any problems that arise in transporting students.
• Work cooperatively with assigned bus driver in loading and unloading of disabled students.
• Ensure the safety of all students by assisting with activities such as (but not limited to) securing seat belts, seat harnesses, and wheelchair belts, as determined by the IEP team, so that all students have a safe transportation experience each day.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding services provided to students in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Attend all meetings and professional growth opportunities as required by the Superintendent, Transportation Supervisor, or Director of Transportation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
