Our company is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Property Accountant to manage and direct the in-house financial operations for our multifamily assets in Arizona. The successful candidate will demonstrate a collaborative approach, sharp attention to detail, and advanced expertise in property accounting. This position requires strategic thinking, adept problem‑solving abilities, proficiency with evolving technologies, and the capacity to excel within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete accounting cycle for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations.
- Coordinate and support annual audits by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating auditor interactions.
- Maintain comprehensive financial records with exceptional organizational skills, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Apply thorough knowledge of property accounting standards, principles, and practices.
- Assist in implementing and optimizing technology solutions to enhance accounting processes and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve organizational financial goals and drive operational efficiency.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast budgets, and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial transactions, including rent rolls, expenditures, and revenue recognition.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of financial policies and procedures to improve performance and reduce risk.
- Full‑cycle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Review and authorize property‑related invoices to ensure timely payment.
- Partner with property managers to optimize income generation and control expenses.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry developments and changes in accounting regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Real Page Accounting and One Site preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in property accounting, specifically with multifamily assets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the entire accounting cycle, from transaction entry to financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proven record of enhancing financial workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with effectiveness in team environments.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Excel; experience with property management systems is a plus.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure without compromising work quality.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations.
