The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing client relationships and delivering timely, accurate financial reporting. This role requires technical accounting skills as well as excellent communication and project management to support small business clients in making data-driven decisions. This is an on-site position based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

• Manage and review client accounting records including monthly close, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports and provide commentary on trends and anomalies.
• Communicate with clients proactively regarding outstanding items, deliverables, and financial questions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoffs between tax, bookkeeping, and operations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis as needed.
• Review and guide client bookkeeping processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with year-end financial close, payroll processing, or tax season support, depending on client and firm needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or client service experience.
• Strong proficiency in Quick Books and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with month-end close processes and client management.

• Is client-focused and relationship-driven.
• Enjoys working collaboratively with internal and external teams.
• Is proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented.
• Can manage multiple deadlines and priorities with professionalism.
• Is comfortable translating financial data into actionable insights for clients.
