Part-Time Accountant (CPA or Enrolled Agent) — In-Office (Contract)

Almega is seeking a part-time Accountant (CPA or Enrolled Agent) to support our tax and bookkeeping workload in an in-office role based in Scottsdale
. This position focuses on accurate, client-ready work, clean documentation, and a professional cadence during tax season and beyond.

In a well-run kitchen, the sous chef does not reinvent the menu; they make sure every plate leaves the pass consistent, correct, and on time. This role matters for the same reason—excellent clients expect excellent execution.

• Prepare and review individual tax returns (Form 1040) and related schedules
• Assist with bookkeeping support and cleanup (including reconciliations and categorization)
• Organize and interpret client source documents (W-2, 1099, K-1, brokerage statements, etc.)
• Maintain clear work papers and notes to support internal review and client questions
• Coordinate with our team to resolve missing items and clarify client follow-ups
• Help streamline and improve repeatable processes for a smoother season

• Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent credential
• Pro Connect Tax Online experience (required)
• Demonstrated experience preparing 1040 returns (multi-income, investment activity, K-1s preferred)
• Strong attention to detail, deadlines, and professional communication
• Ability to work on-site in our Scottsdale office (this is not a remote role)

• Experience with small business bookkeeping and clean-up work
• Familiarity with tax workflows involving brokerage reporting, basis issues, extensions, and amended returns
• Comfortable operating in a team environment with documented processes
