Senior Accountant RoleThe Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting lead for the organization and play a key role in stabilizing and organizing the accounting function during a period of transition and growth. This position is heavily transactional and high volume, requiring someone comfortable working in the weeds while managing core accounting operations independently.
Responsibilities- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Maintaining the general ledger and reconciliations
- Overseeing journal entries and month end close
- Processing and managing high volume accounting activity
- Supporting audit and tax preparation activities
- Improving accounting workflows and helping automate manual processes
- Assisting with cleanup and structure within the accounting department
- Eventually helping oversee and delegate work to a future Staff Accountant
- Senior Accountant level experience
- Professional services industry background
- Sage Intacct experience
- Experience cleaning up or improving disorganized accounting processes
- CPA or CMA designation
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience handling full cycle accounting responsibilities
- Strong reconciliations, month end close, and financial reporting experience
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- High attention to detail in a fast paced environment
