Pay range: $95,000 to $110,000 USD
Compensation$100,000 to $150,000 annually.
LocationScottsdale, AZ. Fully onsite.
Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions for our clients. Senior Accountants prepare financial reports, perform research and analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations and month‑end procedures. The ideal stakeholder has a general understanding and experience in all areas of the accounting cycle.
Responsibilities- Complete accurate and timely month‑end close processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies in all accounting activities
- Transactions cleared daily for soft reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements for accuracy and completeness
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, balance sheets and General Ledger on a monthly basis
- Implement and improve internal controls with internal stakeholder
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff
- Develop and maintain documentation for accounting procedures
- Manage the chart of accounts to ensure proper classification of transactions
- Ensure that all clients in the book of business financials are closed by the 15th
- Retain 90% client retention year over year due to providing extraordinary results
- Hold client calls based on the clients scope of work
- Perform peer reviews of clients financials within our department
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Hands‑on experience with accounting software packages, like Quick Books Online
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month‑end/year‑end close process
- Time management including prioritization, planning, delegation, and problem solving
- Possess effective communication skills in order to describe accounting principals in a way that our clients can implement
- Ability to create a correction strategy to allow our Clients financials to reflect the story of the business
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; 5+ years of general accounting experience
