What The Role Is
Reporting to the Manager of Wind Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for financial data management, journal entries, account reconciliations, timely completion, and assistance with monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting for various components of Clearway. This person will also be responsible for other ad‑hoc projects as assigned, covering all aspects of accounting for Clearway’s Wind renewable energy projects.
The primary objective is to account for and report on multiple utility‑scale wind ownership structures.

What You’ll Be Doing- Execute the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close process within specified time frames, following established internal control processes and procedures.
- Perform analytical functions to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month‑end close, including analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and equity transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing support for financed and non‑financed projects.
- Utilize financial reporting software to create, maintain, and update reporting templates and data queries.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to support financial statement assertions and internal control over financial reporting.
- Support the business by providing accurate general ledger account coding for utility‑scale wind projects.
- Assist with ad‑hoc requests, including fixed‑asset form preparation.
- Help prepare quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements of multiple wind projects in accordance with GAAP to meet lender and ownership reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with technical accounting professionals to research accounting and reporting matters.
- Respond to ad‑hoc requests from stakeholders such as Treasury, Portfolio Finance, and Asset Management.
- Coordinate with Asset Management to explain financial performance of projects to management.
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Support the annual audit process for standalone audits, including compiling statements, footnote schedules, and providing data to external auditors.
- Assist parent and affiliate company audit requests.
- Work with functional departments and external groups to ensure timely and accurate financial results in compliance with company policies.
- Provide tax support for income tax preparation for partnership returns or tax provisions as needed.
- Perform all work with a high degree of accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum four years of experience in general accounting.
- Knowledge of ERP accounting systems.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and deliver high‑quality results on time.
- Demonstrated communication skills with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Practical understanding of internal control processes over financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for financial and analytical computations.
- Detail‑oriented and adaptable to changing work requirements.
- Team‑oriented collaboration, meeting deadlines, and contributing to company objectives.
- Positive, can‑do attitude toward company goals and initiatives.
- CPA and/or Master’s in accounting.
- Public accounting experience.
- SAP experience.
- Experience in the energy industry or real estate.
