Tax Accountant – CPA Firm (Scottsdale, AZ)

We are a small relationship‑built firm in Scottsdale, AZ. We are actively seeking a dynamic and dedicated Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This role focuses on managing corporate tax returns, state and local tax, federal and state tax, tax preparation, tax planning, income tax, and S Corp matters.

• Prepare and file accurate and timely corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with state and local tax laws.
• Conduct thorough reviews of income tax returns, identifying potential tax credits and liabilities, and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability for the company.
• Keep abreast of federal and state tax laws and regulations and apply them appropriately to protect the company's financial interests.
• Provide expert advice on tax matters, including planning, compliance, and reporting for S Corps.
• Assist in tax audits, respond to tax notices, and resolve tax disputes promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support.
• Consult with clients on business and tax issues, providing sound advice and solutions.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in the Accounting + Finance industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification mandatory.
• In‑depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and procedures at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Proficiency in tax preparation and planning, corporate tax returns, and income tax.
• Experience with S Corp tax issues and solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in simple terms.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
