Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
The Controller manages all accounting operations including donations, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Accountable for member billing database and processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Oversees administrative requirements of the Finance Department, including vehicle files, insurance certificate tracking for vendors and contractors, and credit card tracking. Maintains contact with Branch Directors to provide technical assistance in matters of financial operations;
interacts regularly with the CFO to develop fiscal policies and budgets, and to present regular reports. Maintains contact with external auditors.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Trains Branch staff in proper procedures regarding cash receipts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budgeting.
- Assists Branch leadership in budget preparation and management.
- Oversees member tracking database to ensure proper recording of member charges and payments.
- Manages the preparation and analysis of financial reports on a monthly and as needed basis.
- Assists with identifying and evaluating opportunities for improved financial operations, and recordkeeping and reporting. Assists with controlling expenditures against budget.
- Ensures the maintenance of financial records and recordkeeping systems to ensure compliance with all regulations, GAAP, and contractual requirements.
- Ensures a productive work environment within the accounting and administrative functions.
- Recruits, selects, manages, and provides career development opportunities for staff and volunteers within the Finance Department.
- Prepares bi-weekly payroll.
- Manages 401(k) retirement plan, including non-discrimination testing and annual audit.
- Assists CFO with annual audit.
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures for all accounting and administrative functions, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with GAAP.
- Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.

- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or another related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience working with financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and audits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and project management abilities, attention to detail, and promptness.
- Ability to work under time constraints in an accurate and orderly manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and organize work to meet deadlines.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications and finance information platforms.
