Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are a professional services and consulting firm looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to help strengthen our accounting function in Phoenix/Scottsdale. You'll own core full-cycle accounting work — journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close — and play a key role in keeping our financial records accurate across multiple entities. This is a great fit for someone with a strong accounting foundation who wants real ownership, enjoys improving processes, and is excited to grow alongside our expanding in-house accounting team.

Responsibilities
  • General Ledger & Journal Entries - 25%:
Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaids, recurring); maintain the GL; ensure accurate, timely records across entities
  • Reconciliations - 20%:
Monthly bank, credit card, and GL reconciliations; research and resolve discrepancies
  • Month-End & Year-End Close - 15%:
Support and execute close, including supporting schedules and account analysis
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable - 15%:
Process and review AP/AR activity — invoice entry, vendor management, payment tracking
  • Check Processing & Records - 10%:
Process incoming checks (scan, deposit, record); maintain organized physical and electronic financial documentation (primarily on-site)
  • Intercompany - 5%:
Support intercompany transactions and related reconciliations
  • Legal Support - 5%:
Backup accounting support for legal operations, including trust/IOLTA activity (some on-site coordination)
  • Reporting & Audit Support - 5%:
Help prepare financial reports and supporting schedules; support audit prep and ad hoc analysis
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Solid grasp of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Sharp attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with the ability to work independently
  • A plus: multi-entity or professional services / law firm accounting experience
  • Quick Books (Online and/or Desktop) - Preferred
  • Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on operational efficiency and continuous improvement

3 fixed days in office, 2 remote, once eligible. In-office days are set (not flexible day-to-day) to keep check deposits and mail on a predictable cadence. Based in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area — local candidates only. New hires may work primarily on-site during initial onboarding/training before transitioning to hybrid.
