Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function during an exciting period of expansion. This is a highly visible leadership role that offers a clear path toward Director of Finance and ultimately Vice President of Finance as the organization continues its aggressive growth strategy.

While this position is currently based in Scottsdale, Arizona, candidates should be open to the possibility of relocating to Texas in the future as the company continues to expand and align its executive leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting leader who enjoys building scalable processes, partnering with executive leadership, and playing an integral role in acquisitions and post-merger integrations.

Position Overview

• Own the general ledger and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Prepare and review accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP (IFRS exposure is highly valued).
• Deliver executive-level financial reporting and presentations to the C-suite and Private Equity Board.
• Lead accounting operations while remaining hands-on in day-to-day accounting activities.
• Oversee payroll and ensure strong internal controls across all accounting functions.
• Develop, improve, and standardize accounting policies, procedures, and internal processes.
• Drive ERP optimization, automation initiatives, and system enhancements within SAP.
• Lead or support ERP implementation projects and process improvements.
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives.
• Support acquisitions through financial due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
• Mentor and develop a growing accounting team, including direct management of an Accounting Manager and additional accounting staff as the organization expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Combination of public accounting and private industry experience strongly preferred (Big 4 or Top 10 public accounting background highly desired).
• Prior experience leading month-end close and financial reporting for a growing organization.
• Previous people management experience with a collaborative leadership style.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP; IFRS experience is a significant plus.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and acquisition integrations.
• Advanced SAP experience required.
• Demonstrated success leading ERP implementations, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where leaders are expected to be both strategic and hands-on.
• Willingness to relocate to Texas in the future if business needs require.
