Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

The Controller will oversee all financial operations, inventory accounting, and cash flow management for a growing retail business in Scottsdale, Arizona. Reporting directly to the Owner, this hands‑on leader will spearhead financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic budgeting to maximize profitability across all retail channels.

• Financial Oversight
  :
  Manage all accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and monthly closing processes.
• Retail Analytics
  :
  Oversee inventory valuation, margin analysis, open-to-buy planning, and shrink controls.
• Cash Flow Management
  :
  Monitor daily cash balances and provide accurate rolling cash flow forecasts to the Owner.
• Reporting & Compliance
  :
  Prepare timely monthly financial statements and manage local/state sales tax compliance.
• Strategic Advisory
  :
  Partner with the Owner to evaluate promotional performance, pricing strategies, and expansion plans.

• Experience
  :
  Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a retail environment.
• Education
  :
  Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA is a plus).
• Skills
  :
  Advanced proficiency in retail ERP systems, inventory software, and Excel
