Accountant, Financial Reporting

Position:
Accountant (Remote)

Location: Remote

Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 / Annually

We are looking for an Accountant to support month-end close, reporting, and compliance in a large, operationally complex environment. You'll work closely with teams across the business and take real ownership of your accounting work.

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet activity
• Support month-end close
• Prepare monthly and quarterly operational reporting
• Analyze financial activity and investigate discrepancies
• Support internal controls, GAAP compliance, SOX, and other statutory requirements
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Support capital expenditures, asset transfers, and retirements
• Support internal and external audits
• Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, IT, HR, Legal, Sales, Environmental Compliance, and field Finance teams
• Support regulatory, franchise, and local tax-related accounting and compliance work

• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in a larger or operationally complex environment (e.g., manufacturing, distribution, logistics, healthcare, construction, environmental services)
• Hands-on month-end close experience
• Personally prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting
• Solid GAAP and general ledger foundation
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple priorities during a fast close
• Curious and willing to ask questions rather than just follow instructions
