About The Job

Reporting to the Benefits Director, the Team Lead, Benefits is responsible for managing the administration of the company’s full suite of benefit programs from health and welfare, to retirement savings, time off, and leave and accommodation programs.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Manages day-to-day administration of benefit programs.
  • Partners with vendors, brokers, and advisors across our suite of benefit offerings (health and welfare, retirement, leaves/accommodations, time off) to ensure plan performance is running smoothly and the employee experience is going well.
  • Ensures demographic information and eligibility data feeds are accurate and in compliance.
  • Facilitates the reconciliation and payment of monthly benefit invoices.
  • Assists with policy interpretation.
  • May direct some of the work of other team members.
  • Collaborates with internal partners such as HR, Payroll, and Finance.
  • Supports health and retirement plan committee activity.
  • Assists with ongoing communication and any related training of our program and regularly responds to employee inquiries.
  • Reviews ongoing compliance issues, taking the appropriate action (e.g., retirement plan audit, testing, 5500s, sick leave legislation).
  • Responds to or ensures completion of third‑party agency requests for information, such as qualified medical support orders, death claims, COBRA enrollment and administration, and benefit, disability, and Medicare verifications.
  • Process efficiency and improvement.
  • Conducts regular audits across multiple vendor systems and payroll, recommending action on findings.
  • Continuously reviews existing processes for improvement and creates new processes as appropriate.
  • Project management.
  • Provides support during M&A due diligence and integration.
  • Reviews and supports annual processes, such as open enrollment, compliance notifications, along with executing related communication plans.
  • Participates in vendor and system changes, including testing, communication, etc.
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Min 5 years in benefits administration.
  • Working experience with an HR information and benefits admin systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize work.
  • Detail‑oriented.
