Job Description:Compensation rate: $21.20 per hour
The ASU Knowledge Enterprise is seeking a detail-oriented and communicative individual to join its Research Operations department at Arizona State University (ASU). As a Management Intern for Research Operations, you will assist KE Research Advancement with administrative support on proposals for project funding.
Essential Duties:- Serve as an administrative resource to ASU faculty and staff during development, review, and submission of grant applications and other proposals for project funding. Consult with Sponsored Proposals colleagues to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance and answer questions about the Pre-Award process.
- Develop administrative components of research proposals and institutional grant applications for a wide variety of funding agencies, including federal sponsors, corporate entities, philanthropic funders, and local governmental agencies.
- Develop project budgets, draft budget narratives, secure internal approvals, liaise with sub-recipients, check proposal documents for completeness, prepare sponsor application packages, and perform institutional review and submission.
- Identify specific areas and solutions for process improvement and perform project management to draft and implement changes to methods, procedures, and work instructions.
- Receives detailed instructions and works from general instructions on standard job duties, with regular review of completed tasks.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Evidence of ability to understand user needs, requirements, and requests.
- Experience in customer service roles with high quality standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management.
- Experience in using personal computer and related software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to review and follow grant application requirements (or similarly extensive or complex written instructions) and communicate relevant aspects concisely.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to work both independently and within a complex structured team.
- Climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position.
- Regular use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
