Responsibilities- Attend pre‑bid meetings and review civil documents.
- Compile and review quantities.
- Prepare complete estimates for grading, paving, storm drain, bank/scour protection, and other heavy‑civil scopes.
- Lead bid reviews and perform related duties.
- Organize, schedule, and prepare estimates with minimum supervision.
- 7+ years’ experience as a Civil Estimator with a self‑perform contractor.
- Experience bidding heavy civil construction, heavy highway, earthwork, and paving projects.
- Proficiency with Heavy Bid, MS Project, or comparable estimating software.
- Ability to assess bid documents, maintain questions, and build grant‑chart type schedules.
- Experience in building self‑perform crews and production rates in estimating software.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Local market knowledge preferred.
- Experience with private and public bidding, generating schedules of values, and maintaining scope clarification.
- Effective communication with Estimating Manager and other managers.
