Superintendent - Interiors

Job Summary

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Superintendent to join our Special Projects Group in Scottsdale, AZ. The role focuses on JOC work in the Phoenix market involving interiors and tenant renovations. Occasional after‑hours work may be required.

• Project Financial Responsibilities: reviews and updates progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion on a regular basis to support the Project Manager/Senior Superintendent.
• Preconstruction Services: participates in preconstruction planning regarding the project schedule and budget, and reviews project estimates and cost control at project start.
• Project Start‑up and Scheduling: understands specifications, contract terms, and confirms that materials and subcontract work comply with contract documents and quality specifications; ensures that materials are properly tested and results recorded.
• Project Administration, Operations and Close‑out: directs and coordinates subcontractors and site personnel; assists the Senior Superintendent with expectations, schedules, construction methods, company policies, permits, safety, quality control; attends weekly progress meetings; assists in final closeout including financial settlement, demobilization, and transition.
• Promote Customer Relations: builds effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups to support company core values and exceed customer expectations.
• Culture, Leadership and Employee Development: promotes the Creed, serves as a role model, attends training, supports community and client relations, develops direct reports, provides challenging assignments and feedback, acts with integrity.

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• 4 to 7 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a Superintendent role.
• JOC experience.
• Interiors/tenant improvements experience.
• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
• Organizes people, tools, equipment, and plans multiple activities.
• Commitment to quality, evaluating processes and making necessary changes based on customer input.
• Proficiency using PC and company communication tools (email, internet, Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Work is primarily on job sites in an office trailer or existing structure; personal protective equipment required as per safety policies.
• May need to travel to other project locations.
• After‑hours work required as necessary.
