Position: Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor (Construction)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide post-contract cost management and quantity surveying support for complex capital projects.

Review payment applications and validate completed work, stored materials, and supporting documentation.

Perform quantity takeoffs and field verification to confirm work-in-place and contractor-reported progress.

Review Schedules of Values for accuracy, scope alignment, and progress measurement.

Track commitments, expenditures, contingencies, changes, forecasts, and projected final costs.

Prepare cost reports, cash-flow forecasts, and change logs.

Review change orders and contractor proposals for scope, quantities, pricing, productivity, markups, and contractual entitlement.

Evaluate cost impacts from design revisions, field conditions, and scope changes.

Identify scope gaps, quantity discrepancies, and potential cost exposure.

Support commercial negotiations, claims reviews, final account settlement, and project closeout.

Communicate cost risks and commercial issues to clients and project stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills Required Strong knowledge of post-contract quantity surveying and construction cost management.

Experience reviewing payment applications, Schedules of Values, change orders, and contractor proposals.

Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and validate work-in-place.

Experience managing project costs, forecasts, contingencies, and final cost projections.

Ability to evaluate quantities, unit rates, labor productivity, material pricing, markups, and contractual entitlement.

Knowledge of lump-sum, cost-reimbursable, design-build, and Guaranteed Maximum Price contracts.

Experience with mechanical, electrical, process piping, structural, architectural, or process utility scopes.

Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and construction cost-management software skills.

Preferred

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of post-contract quantity surveying or construction cost-management experience.

Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, life sciences, pharmaceutical, automotive, battery, aerospace, or other complex capital projects.

Experience in an owner’s representative, consultancy, general contractor, or construction management environment.

Professional certification such as MRICS, CCEA, CCP, or an equivalent credential preferred.#LI-JB1
