Design Consultant – Flexible Hours

Beautiful, comfortable interior spaces don’t just happen by accident. They are carefully planned by interior designers who combine their artistic and technical skills to create safe and functional spaces where clients live, work, and play. Original Ventures is seeking an experienced Design Consultant to support our spa development projects. In this consulting role, you will collaborate closely with architects, construction teams, and ownership to guide the selection, sourcing, and finalization of all finish materials for our spa facilities.

Your expertise will ensure each space reflects our brand’s aesthetic vision while maintaining functionality and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in measuring, estimating, and procuring supplies and have a proven track record of successfully guiding material selections from concept to final approval.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison between architects, construction crews, and owners to ensure cohesive communication and project alignment.
  • Select and propose finish materials (tiles, flooring, countertops, lighting fixtures, etc.) for spa interiors, adhering to design vision and budget requirements.
  • Conduct measurements and estimations to ensure accurate procurement and efficient material usage.
  • Source materials from suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality products.
  • Present material choices to ownership for final approval and ensure all selections meet design and quality expectations.
  • Work closely with the construction team to address any concerns related to installation or material compatibility.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Interior Design experience required;
    Degree/license in Interior Design preferred.
  • Ability to listen to a client’s needs and communicate potential solutions.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Current on the latest furniture trends.
  • Extensive experience in interior finishes and material procurement for high‑end projects, particularly within the spa or hospitality industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee material selection and coordination from start to finish.
  • Expertise in measuring and estimating materials
    , ensuring precision in ordering, and cost efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, ensuring deadlines are met without supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various project stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts for premium materials.
Compensation

$30 - $40 hourly
