- Maintain overall project schedules, budgets, and communication between clients and teams as Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager
- Perform planning research and documentation
- Provide supporting mapping and graphics in Adobe InDesign and ArcGIS
- Manage and analyze information collection systems, including assessments, inventories, and trends
- Develop reliable and transparent information-gathering methods
- Write system-wide parks, recreation, open space, and trails plans and outdoor recreation plans
- Coordinate, facilitate, and summarize stakeholder meetings, online outreach, and community public meetings
- Attend occasional evening meetings and public events
- Travel occasionally to project sites and public events
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Engineering, Recreation Management, Environmental Studies, or related field
- 5+ years of experience at a design or planning consulting firm, or in a local government parks, recreation, open space, and/or trails department
- Knowledge of parks, outdoor recreation, and trail planning principles and practices, including land use planning, site planning and design, and land development codes
- Experience in local government system plans for parks, recreation, open space, or trails
- Expertise in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign;
Photoshop and Illustrator a plus - Example products of mapping and graphics
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, multitask, adjust to changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
- Preferred: exceptional relationships with federal, state, and local land managers
- Preferred: knowledge of wildlife corridors, comprehensive plans, land development codes, vision documents, and development processes
- Preferred: experience with social media and website development
Demonstrates expertise in project management, including maintaining schedules and budgets, while effectively communicating with clients and teams. Proficient in parks, recreation, and trail planning principles, with strong skills in mapping and graphics using ArcGIS and Adobe InDesign.
