Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator

SWABACK Architects + Planners is seeking a creative, visually sophisticated Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator to develop and manage our social media presence.

We are looking for someone who sees social media as more than simply posting project photographs. The right person will be curious about architecture, design, art, landscape, travel, people and place, and will know how to turn the work and culture of a design firm into compelling visual stories.

This position will take primary responsibility for our social media presence, particularly Instagram and Linked In, and will work directly with firm leadership and our marketing team.

• Develop and maintain a consistent social media strategy and content calendar.
• Create, edit and publish original content for Instagram, Linked In and other appropriate platforms.
• Develop engaging stories around our architecture, planning, interiors, people, projects and design thinking.
• Create Reels and other short-form video content.
• Identify interesting content opportunities within the firm's day-to-day work rather than waiting for material to be handed over.
• Work with architects and designers to uncover the stories behind projects, sketches, models, materials and design decisions.
• Visit projects and the studio periodically to capture photographs and video.
• Develop creative ways to use existing photography, renderings, sketches and archival material.
• Write concise, engaging captions that communicate design ideas without sounding overly promotional or corporate.
• Maintain a consistent visual identity and voice across platforms.
• Follow developments in architecture, design and social media and bring new ideas to the firm.
• Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to comments and interactions.
• Track performance and provide simple monthly reporting on what is working and what should change.
• Coordinate with the firm's marketing staff so social media supports broader marketing and business-development efforts.

We are less interested in a specific degree than in creative talent, visual judgment and evidence that you know how to make people stop scrolling.

• Approximately 2–5 years of experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing or a related creative field.
• A strong portfolio or examples of social media accounts and content you have created.
• Excellent visual judgment and an appreciation for architecture and design.
• Strong writing and storytelling ability.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Instagram and Linked In.
• Experience creating and editing short-form video.
• Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Cap Cut or similar platforms.
• An understanding of social media trends without feeling compelled to follow every trend.
• The initiative to find stories and content opportunities independently.
• The confidence to propose new ideas and experiment with different approaches

Experience with an architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, hospitality, real estate or other design-oriented organization would be helpful but is not required.
