Sedation Certified Oral Surgery Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and sedation certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) Assistant to join our team. This position requires a dedicated professional who can provide exceptional support to our surgeons and ensure the highest level of patient care. The role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.

• Assist Surgeons:
  Provide assistance to surgeons during oral and maxillofacial procedures, ensuring all necessary preparations and documentation are completed efficiently.
• Chair-side Support:
  Deliver excellent chair-side clinical support, including charting, operatory set-up, and clean-up, to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Radiography:
  Take dental radiographs/x-rays and cone beam 3D scans as required for diagnostic purposes.
• Sedation Assistance:
  Assist with sedation processes by preparing patients for treatment, explaining procedures, and ensuring they are comfortable.
• Patient Monitoring:
  Monitor patient vital statistics and intravenous fluids during surgery. Promptly notify the surgeon of any issues that arise.
• Post-Operative Care:
  Provide patients with follow-up instructions and postoperative care tips to ensure optimal recovery.
• Impression Taking:
  Capable of taking impressions and pouring up plaster diagnostic models for surgical planning.

• Sedation Certification:
  Must be sedation certified. DANCE, OMAAP, or other Anesthesia/Sedation monitoring certification is required.
• Experience:
  
  Previous experience in an oral surgery setting is preferred but not mandatory if you have the necessary certifications.
• Skills:
  
  Strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and excellent organizational abilities.

Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time (30–35 hours per week)
