Job DescriptionThe position of Teacher On Assignment (TOA)/Dean of Students is allocated at the Middle School level. The role provides administrative and instructional support for the campus, addressing student discipline matters, facilitating community relations, and supervising student activities.
General Essential Functions- Process student referrals for discipline, attendance, and due process hearings.
- Consult with parents, faculty, staff, and administrators to find solutions for academic, personal, behavioral, and social/emotional issues.
- Participate in community, campus, and district committees as assigned.
- Ensure clear communication with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and related personnel.
- Refer students to school and community resources for attendance, discipline, and behavior concerns.
- Monitor discipline patterns, generate reports, and analyze data on student discipline.
- Facilitate workshops for students and parents on problem‑solving, communication, interpersonal relations, and anger management.
- Complete all work in accordance with District policy and applicable state and federal laws.
- Supervise and evaluate professional and/or support personnel to monitor performance, provide professional growth, and achieve curriculum objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Analytical and critical thinking using computational techniques; application of district, state, and federal policies.
- Operating standard computing equipment and software, performing digital information searches and data sorting.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate records with confidentiality and ethics.
- Self‑motivation, dedication, and strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills.
- Basic numeracy, logic, statistics, probability, inference, and query language proficiency.
- Reading manuals, writing documents in prescribed formats, and presenting information.
- Scheduling and coordinating activities; querying and collating data; operating related equipment.
- Flexibility to work with diverse individuals under various time and socially sensitive circumstances.
- Problem‑solving to identify issues and create action plans.
Experience
Experience in a K‑12 work environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Management, or a related area.
Certificates & Licenses
- Arizona K‑12 Education Certification
- Principal Pre‑K‑12 Certificate (Preferred)
Clearances
- Criminal Background Clearance
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Citizenship, Residency or Work Visa Required
