Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting serving K-5 students in a self-contained classroom. Take the lead in supporting approximately 12 students, collaborating closely with a team of five dedicated paraprofessionals to deliver personalized instruction and positive behavioral supports. This full-time contract opportunity enables you to foster growth, inclusion, and confidence for each student, leveraging your expertise and creativity.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Arizona (or eligibility for reciprocal certification)
  • Experience in a self-contained classroom, preferably with K-5 students
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
  • Familiarity with evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student's needs and IEP goals
  • Guide, mentor, and collaborate with a team of five paraprofessionals to implement classroom activities and behavioral supports
  • Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance and reporting requirements
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student growth and participation
  • Work closely with general education staff and specialists to facilitate smooth transitions and effective interventions
  • Engage in regular communication with families and support staff to ensure cohesive team approaches
