On-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ — relocation assistance available
$150,000/year
Full-time
Most elementary schools reduce expectations when children fall behind. You do the opposite. You know a six-year-old can accomplish far more than a conventional classroom demands, and you have used measurable outcomes to demonstrate it repeatedly.
Alpha operates on a two-hour learning model. Adaptive applications handle academic instruction each morning, freeing your schedule for the work that genuinely transforms a child s trajectory: motivation, life skills, coaching, and accountability. You directly oversee a cohort of K-3 students while coaching the Guides (Alpha s name for the adults who inspire and coach the children) who manage their daily growth.
You remain actively involved every day, not directing from a separate office.
A typical day alternates among three core activities. You analyze performance data and Coachbot analytics to identify which students and Guides need intervention. You conduct coaching conversations that conclude with a concrete next action rather than general encouragement. And you command the focus of a room filled with five- to nine-year-olds during a workshop on public speaking, concentration, or exchanging feedback.
When you identify effective methods, you document them. The playbooks you create establish the standard that every other Guide implements, expanding your influence from a single cohort to the entire level. Demonstrating your ability to scale that quality is your pathway to greater leadership responsibility here.
If reducing expectations seems compassionate to you, this role is not suitable. If elevating them feels like respect, apply.
What You Will Be Doing- Coaching Guides and students through performance data, classroom observation, and direct feedback, then holding both parties accountable to quantifiable objectives
- Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students focused on life skills including public speaking, concentration, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and exchanging feedback
- Conducting individual and small-group motivation sessions that link each child s personal goals and interests to tangible academic achievement
- Creating and refining playbooks that convert your most effective practices into repeatable frameworks other Guides can implement reliably
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating excellence in facilitation to maintain standards as the team expands
- Providing academic instruction or presenting lectures from the front of the classroom; adaptive apps deliver the content while you coach the people
- Reducing expectations when a student encounters difficulty
- Managing from afar the way instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain embedded with your own cohort each day
- Overseeing the entire campus s budget, operations, and parent communications; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide performance
- Justifying traditional teaching approaches or adhering to a conventional K-12 curriculum
