Alpha operates on a two-hour learning framework. Morning academics are delivered through adaptive applications, freeing your schedule for the work that genuinely transforms lives: building motivation, teaching life skills, delivering coaching, and ensuring accountability. You take direct ownership of a K-3 cohort while simultaneously coaching the Guides—Alpha's term for the adults who inspire and coach students—who drive their day-to-day development. Your leadership remains hands-on daily rather than remote or administrative.
Your typical day alternates between three core activities. You analyze performance metrics and Coachbot analytics to identify students and Guides who need support. You conduct coaching sessions that conclude with clear, actionable next steps rather than general encouragement. And you lead workshops for groups of five- to nine-year-olds on topics like public speaking, focus, or how to give and receive feedback.
When you identify effective methods, you document them. The playbooks you create set the standard for all other Guides, expanding your influence from a single cohort to an entire grade level. Demonstrating your ability to scale this level of excellence is the pathway to greater leadership responsibility here.
If you view lowering expectations as compassionate, this role is not for you. If you see raising them as a form of respect, we encourage you to apply.
What You Will Be Doing
- Using performance metrics, classroom observation, and direct feedback to coach both Guides and students, then holding each accountable to specific, measurable objectives
- Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students focused on life skills including public speaking, focus, collaboration, resilience, accountability, and giving and receiving feedback
- Conducting individual and small-group motivation sessions that link each child's personal goals and interests to tangible academic outcomes
- Creating and refining playbooks that convert your most effective practices into repeatable systems that other Guides can consistently implement
- Training Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating facilitation excellence to maintain high standards as the team expands
- Providing academic instruction or lecturing in front of the classroom; adaptive apps handle content delivery while you focus on coaching individuals
- Reducing expectations in response to student challenges
- Managing from a distance as instructional coaches and principals typically do; you remain embedded daily with your own cohort
- Overseeing campus-wide budget, operations, and parent relations; a Campus Lead manages those areas so you can concentrate on student and Guide performance
- Advocating for traditional teaching practices or adhering to a standard K-12 curriculum
Key Responsibilities
Fulfill Alpha's three core commitments to every K-3 student: they love school, learn twice as fast, and develop exceptional life skills and independence.
