The most impactful gesture for a student sitting at 99% of their weekly target is to hold the line and insist they finish. Not out of apathy, but because you know they are capable of reaching the mark—and dropping the standard would be the true disservice.

You are not here to teach traditional academics. At Alpha, students engage with academic content through AI-driven adaptive learning platforms. There are no lectures, no printed textbooks, no chalkboard instruction. Motivation and life skills—typically afterthoughts in conventional schools—are your central responsibility.

Imagine a typical Tuesday. You spend half your time facilitating one-hour workshops for a K-8 group, covering topics like public speaking, sustained focus, and how to both give and accept constructive feedback. The remainder of your day is spent in one‑on‑one or small‑group sessions with those same students, reviewing their Coachbot data, and guiding each of them to complete 100% of their weekly app targets.

You will leverage school currency, leaderboards, and the trust you have cultivated to move past obstacles.

Your success each quarter is defined by three metrics: every student in your cohort completes their weekly app goals, every student passes the Test2

Pass mastery verification for each workshop, and at least 90% report that they love you. Fall short on any of these three, and you have missed the mark.

The reward is witnessing a student who began September convinced they were terrible at math eventually ask you to increase their goal.

This is a full‑time, on‑site position at one of Alpha’s campuses. We recruit on a national basis, so job boards may list this opportunity in nearby cities where a campus does not yet exist.

If you have experience coaching youth sports, leading a cabin at summer camp, or tutoring a student on the verge of giving up, the final step before an offer is a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students.

• Facilitating one‑hour life‑skills workshops for K‑8 cohorts, addressing public speaking, focus, and the exchange of constructive feedback
• Conducting daily individual and small‑group motivation sessions designed to ensure every student reaches 100% of their weekly app targets, informed by Coachbot analytics and Alpha’s incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards)
• Delivering the Test2
  
  Pass mastery assessment for each life skill, then providing additional coaching to any student who does not pass until mastery is achieved
• Modifying the workshop playbook and creating new sessions as needed, ensuring the content resonates equally with kindergarteners and eighth graders
• Serving as both the adult who upholds the standard and the adult your students willingly confide in

• Delivering lectures at a whiteboard, drafting math and reading lesson plans, or grading homework; academic instruction is embedded in the apps
• Conducting standardized test preparation or being held accountable for class‑wide test scores
• Managing parent conferences, emails, and complaints; campus leadership handles all parent‑facing communication
• Managing behavior for 30 students simultaneously; cohorts are small, and behavior work is done through 1:1 coaching
• Passively supervising kids at computers; motivation here is active and interpersonal

Ensure that every student in your K‑8 cohort completes their weekly learning goals, achieves mastery in each life skill, and finishes the year reporting that they loved school.
