Mountain West Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead high‑impact infrastructure and energy projects across the Phoenix Metro Area. This is a hands‑on leadership role focused on delivering excellence in safety, cost control, and scheduling for complex mechanical construction initiatives. You’ll be working at the center of mission‑critical projects that power our communities and industries. This role will ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Duties And Responsibilities

The following are intended to be examples of the responsibilities for the person in this role.   • Serves as the Owner’s Representative on large Capital Improvement projects making project related decisions with consultants and contractors.
  • Reviews plans, maps, specifications, soils reports, materials testing laboratory reports, contracts, and other documents to ensure conformance with federal, state, County and industry codes and regulations; notes changes required and follows up, as necessary.
  • Supervises complex construction activities to build new or modify existing facilities and/or other related buildings, including utilities, equipment installation and exterior improvements.
  • Arrange worksite and equipment access/shutdowns, obtain permits, and develop project support schedules to support subcontractor activities and minimize interference with others’ work.
  • Work with project manager(s), architects, principals, site administrators and/or other staff to coordinate construction schedules and manage work activities in order to achieve minimal negative impact.
  • Conducts pre‑bid conferences and site visits.
  • Develop resolutions to complex technical problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in‑depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Develop construction schedules, evaluates construction estimates, reviews contract modifications, and verifies work performed to recommend progress payments.
  • Manages procedural aspects of the construction contract including changes, payments, submittals, and documentation.
  • Tracks project data and reports on potential budget and schedule variances.
  • Reviews project plans and specifications for constructability, operability, maintainability & cost effectiveness.
  • Serves as the liaison between multiple departments and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, train, and mentor staff assigned to Electrical Project Manager’s team.
  • Personal development through attendance, professional organization memberships, continuing education, professional registration, and certification achievement.
  • Interprets, explains, and enforces regulations, ordinances and policies to developers, contractors, representatives of other agencies and the public; confers with County staff regarding possible changes to plans and problem resolution.
  • Inspects safety aspects, including barricades, of jobs in progress; works to assure that contractors comply with applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Checks plans, pay requests, submittals, and construction documents for accuracy.
  • Maintains logs of inspection performed; prepares periodic and special reports as required; estimates progress payments due on contracts for public works projects. Maintains and updates as needed the Project Specification.
  • Serves as inspector‑in‑charge of a construction or repair project, including reviewing the work of consulting inspectors.
  • May be required to issue stop work orders for safety related problems and may supervise a crew.
